Loca Saxophone Quartet

The Loca Saxophone Quartet, founded by Joshua Hebert (soprano saxophone), Collin Juniper (alto saxophone), Sophia Flores (tenor saxophone), and Julianna Townley (baritone saxophone), began as a collaboration between students at the University of Southern California and has since expanded well beyond its academic roots. Known for championing new music, the ensemble has premiered numerous works, including Saxophone Music by Luc Edouard and Fog Run by Brenden McBrien.Loca has been privileged to work closely with some of today’s most esteemed composers, including Henryk Golden, Luc Edouard, Joey Sellars, Carter Pann, and Frank Ticheli. These collaborations have not only expanded the saxophone quartet repertoire but also highlight the ensemble’s commitment to bringing fresh, innovative voices to audiences. An active performing group, Loca is frequently featured at events throughout California and has appeared at venues across the United States. Recent highlights include performances at the 2025 NASA Region 2 Conference and the Navy Band Saxophone Symposium in Fairfax, Virginia.

Saxophone and Piano Duo

Sophia Flores and Andrew Edwards are a saxophone and piano duo recognized for their compelling performances and commitment to meaningful repertoire. Together, they have presented their touring concert program, I Never Saw Another Butterfly, at venues throughout California, including The Pacific Club, Newport Public Library, the Holocaust Museum of Los Angeles, Boston Court Pasadena, the Noontime Concert Series, the Crocker Art Museum, and many more. The program highlights music by composers blacklisted during the Holocaust and serves as both a musical and historical tribute. As part of this concert, Flores and Edwards gave the world premiere of Timothy Maggs’ arrangement of Farewell My Krakow. The duo has also been invited to perform at the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 2 Conference and the Rush Hour Concert Series at the University of Southern California, as well as many other venues across California, sharing their artistry with diverse audiences in both academic and community settings.
